I am all I have ever been

The universal theme of body and lived life underpins I am all I have ever been. Seeking to extend and develop a visual language of aging, memory and identity has provided ways to look at aging differently.

In a society where its  promulgation of negativity impacts on self-image and identity when negotiating social norms, where cultural stereotypes and prejudice are evident in relentless social media commentary,  and imagery of ideal beauty and lifestyles.

I am all I have ever been  flips this focus to investigate ways a body accumulates memories and shapes its identity through the process of living.

The external marks of living are evident on my face. The gradual accumulations of my inner life are evident in body markings inside each head.   Time, space, memory and appearance give shape to my life as I create imprints and impressions which carry my history and nurture my identity.
